Community-based OT for collective liberation.
People’s OT offers occupational therapy rooted in disability justice and an understanding of systemic harm.
We recognize that health is shaped by systemic harm and oppression, and we work collaboratively with clients to understand the full context of their lives (social, cultural, structural). Care is guided by listening, believing clients’ needs, and supporting autonomy and meaningful participation in daily life. We approach care with compassion, curiosity, and collaboration.
Abolitionist care has history. We are part of it.
Our care model is inspired by:
The Black Panther Party’s People’s Clinics
Abolitionist health and mutual aid traditions
Disability justice movements that demand access, dignity, and self-determination.
We understand care as infrastructure for liberation, not charity or institutional control.

Toni Solaru, MS, OTD, OTR/L, QMHP
I am a functional cognition specialists who offers trauma-informed care for neurodivergent and chronically ill adults, with a focus on creating a safe, compassionate space where you can explore and heal. Drawing from an abolitionist and humanistic approach, I understand that our well-being is deeply connected to the social systems we navigate daily. Together, we’ll explore how these systems affect you and work to support your overall functioning and growth.
As a Black, queer, trans, and disabled person, I bring my own lived experience to my work, guiding my practice with empathy, care, and a commitment to honoring your unique identity and needs. I truly believe in the power of collaboration and meeting you where you are in your journey toward healing.
